Manage Department & Team members in Brijj

Managing Department & Team members in Brijj is easy. Brijj manages Department and Team membership on an 'invite' basis. In order for a person to be added to a department or team, they must be invited, and accept that invite. This is to ensure that users are not put into incorrect teams without validation, and also ensures that users are fully aware which department and team they are a part of. When users are initially onboarded to Brijj, they will be able to join a given department.

Admins can invite users into any department or team, and Leaders can invite users into any team that they are a leader of.

The below processes are the methods for adding members to a team for the first time, and for moving users between departments and teams.

How to invite a user to a team in Brijj

  • Go to the settings menu, available in the top right of your screen under the Avatar / Profile Picture. Select 'Departments & Teams'.

  • To view the teams you wish to add a user to click on the departments name which holds the team.

  • Click on the team you want to add the user to.

  • In the resulting screen, click on 'Invite member'

  • In the popup, select the users you wish to invite
  • Select which team role you wish to give them (either members or leaders) and then click 'Add'
  • If you no longer wish to add any users to the team click 'Cancel'

  • nce the invite has been sent the user will receive a notification which they can either accept, or decline as below

How to remove a user from a team in Brijj

  • It is best practice to use the 'Invite mechanism' above to manage the movement of users across teams, however you may want to remove a user from a team without inviting him. Only Admins may do this.
  • Navigate to the team you wish to remove the user from and click on the team name.

  • In the next screen click on the users menu item and select 'Remove'

  • In the popup, if you wish to remove the user click 'Remove'. This will result in the user remaining in the department, but now appearing in the 'Users without a team' section.
  • If you wish to cancel the removing of the user, then click 'Cancel'

How to invite a user to a department in Brijj but not a team.

  • While we recommend that you always designate a user into a team within a department it is possible to add a user to just a department but not a team. You may want to do this while you set up lower team structures or you may not want to create lower level teams at all.
  • Go to the settings menu, available in the top right of your screen under the Avatar / Profile Picture. Select 'Departments & Teams'.

  • To add someone to a department, scroll down to the department you wish to add to them to and click on that departments name.

  • Because we want to add the user to the department but not a team, these users will by definition  be 'Users without a team' and so this is the area in which we invite users to the department only. On the next screen click on 'Users without a team'.

  • In the resulting screen, click on 'Invite member'

  • In the popup, select the users you wish to invite and then click 'Add'
  • If you no longer wish to add any users to the department click 'Cancel'

  • Once the invite has been sent the user will receive a notification which they can either accept, or decline as below.

How to remove a user from a department in Brijj

  • All users must fall into a department, therefore you can not remove a user from a department without reassigning them to another department. To do this, follow the  "How to invite a user to a department in Brijj" process above.
